wundagore: Creamy Mami looking curious, raising a hand to her face. (creamy mami ☆ like the seven colors)

Yuu raising her magic wand to transform, a ribbin of golden light steaming from it.

-I'm very lineface-y that being an idol is really something Yuu doesn't want, but that was forced on her. I mean, it's an interesting narrative, but it's very sad at the same time.

-Still also linefacing at the definitely sexualization of such a young protagonist.

-And it makes me uncomfortable how Megumi is portrayed straight up as a vindictive rival, at least so far. Since I'm not very far in I'm hoping there's time for this to change.

Also is it just me or does she look like Relena Darlian?

Megumi performing, a hand raised dramatically.

-Ominous dream sequence! I recall hearing that Magical Angel Creamy Mami has at least a bittersweet ending, so I'm curious about where this is all going.

-Am interested in seeing Yuu try to balance her school work, personal life, and work as Mami! This is something most shows I've seen (Sailor Moon, frex) only briefly touch upon.

-"Did you refuse a date from a boy? You're popular just like your Poppa."

YUU'S DAD IS THE BEST? THE BEST.

-YUU'S DETERMINATION. Goshh.

Poji and Nega looking worried. Poji is saying that if anyone can succeed Yuu can.

-RANDOM SECURITY GUARD ON ROLLER SKATES?

Said security guard rushing forward on his skates.

-I just love the random trippyness in this show.

Mami being carried forward on a parade of animate toys -- clowns, skeletons with sunglasses, ghosts, aliens, and monsters.

Another shot of the same.

-I'd say my overall impression is that Yuu/Mami is a wonderful character who really shines through the more problematic elements of this series.
